Removing the family head after he is deceased and final return has been completed

Last year was the final return for a deceased head of household. How do I carry forward and do the return just for the surviving spouse? I cannot delete the family head.

You have to start a new return, no carry forward. Not possible to delete family head or switch another person in as head.

Similar situation with deceased head of family and even though I started my own return it won't let me ''review.. Says there's an error. Some people say you can do a 'remove' for the head but 'remove' not shown when head's name is clicked. Must I start an entirely new file for myself even though I paid for this year's return?

If the remove is still unavailable, then what I said two years ago still stands.
